Jilly's Saloon, 256 West 52nd Street, Manhattan, Seven Original Items. For three decades, Jilly's in Manhattan, like the Copacabana before it, was the place to be. The favorite hangout of Frank Sinatra, the bar and restaurant attracted a who's who of patrons from all walks of life, especially those who frequented the Broadway theater district. This unique lot of seven original items owned by Sinatra right-hand man Jilly Rizzo includes an original small china saucer with rim and name "Jilly's" in gold; original china "dinner bell" with clapper intact, and rim, handle and name "Jilly's" in gold; original Jilly's business card, "Home of the King," including address and phone number; original "Mister J" matchbook, complete and intact; original Jilly's matchbook cover, includes handwritten notes and phone number inside; "Christmas Greetings" gift card with inscription: "Dear Jilly, Thanx for being so nice to us-it's always fun with you! Love-Frank and Myra/Something to help celebrate the [New Year]"; and Chinese art box with navy-blue-cloth bound exterior and padded light-blue-cloth interior. Jilly's was famous for having "the best Chinese food" in Manhattan, and this item reflects Rizzo's love of the Asian cuisine that was so favored by Sinatra and his cohorts. These items were in the possession of Jilly Rizzo until his death in 1992, when it became part of his estate archive. In Very Fine condition. From the Jilly Rizzo Estate Archive. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from William Rizzo.
