Jilly Rizzo's Personal Bound Copy of Sinatra: The Main Event Tour Itinerary. Sinatra right-hand man Jilly Rizzo joined Frank, Pat Henry, and the bands of Joe Malin and Woody Herman on the road for ten concert dates during October 1974. Opening at the Boston Gardens, the tour featured The Main Event, a televised live show from Madison Square Garden, on October 13, and closed at the Dallas Convention Center on the 29th. In each city, Jilly's presence was augmented by eight plainclothes and 20 uniformed police officers. Jilly could be spotted during the early moments of the show, which was announced by none other than Howard Cosell in his trademark style, as if it were a pugilistic contest. Ol' Blue Eyes actually sang in a boxing ring, offering a "wild, knocked-out, coo-coo, groovy" version of "The Lady is a Tramp" and an updated version of "The House I Live In."
This unique The Main Event "Sinatra In Concert 1974" itinerary was used by Jilly Rizzo throughout the tour and at the Madison Square Garden broadcast. Housed in a custom vinyl three-ring binder, embossed in gold lettering with the title and the name "Jilly Rizzo" on the front cover, the contents include the tour dates, musician manifest, staging requirements for the shows, and transportation and lodging requirements for each city and venue. Also included is the VIP list for the television broadcast, and an air charter contract signed by Jerry Weintraub. This one-of-a-kind item was in the possession of Jilly Rizzo from 1974 until his death in 1992, when it became part of his estate archive. In Very Fine condition. From the Jilly Rizzo Estate Archive. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from William Rizzo.
