Jilly Rizzo's Personal Bound Copy of A Night with the Champ: A Tribute to Joe Louis Sinatra Program Book. On November 9, 1978, Sinatra right-hand man Jilly Rizzo served as assistant to producer John Francis for A Night with the Champ, a tribute to legendary boxer Joe Louis, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Sponsored by the Joe Louis International Sports Foundation, this lavish celebration of the historic career of "The Brown Bomber," who first became Heavyweight Champion of the World by defeating James J. "Cinderella Man" Braddock in 1937, included a dinner committee on which Jilly joined such other notables as Dave Bradley and Don King. Individual accolades were offered in this lavish companion program book by Ryan O'Neal, Sammy Davis Jr., Merv Griffin, Ralph Edwards, and the owners of many Vegas casinos and hotels. This unique A Night with the Champ book, dated November 9, 1978, was bound for Jilly Rizzo by Frank Sinatra. Beautifully bound in burgundy leather, with the title and the name "Jilly Rizzo" embossed in gold lettering on the front cover, was in the possession of Rizzo from 1978 until his death in 1992, when it became part of his estate archive. In Very Fine condition. From the Jilly Rizzo Estate Archive. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from William Rizzo.
