Hugh Hefner's Personal "VIP #1" Playboy Club Key (ca. 1960s-1970s). Vintage original Hugh Hefner Playboy Club 3.25" x 2.25" credit card-style key. With printed title, "The Playboy Club" and turnkey icon featuring the Playboy Bunny profile on the key fob with embossed letters reading, "VIP 1 Hugh M. Hefner" at the lower area of the card. The first Playboy Club opened in downtown Chicago on February 29, 1960. It grew into a national chain, with each location featuring a Living Room, Playmate Bar, Dining Room, and Club Room. Playboy Bunnies, some of whom appeared in Playboy magazine, served food and drinks. The clubs featured well-known entertainers and became international sensations. Displayed in an 18.5" x 11.5" silver dry-brushed frame which exhibits slight age and handling. Provenance: "Playboy at 50: Selections from the Archives" Lot 204 - Christies, December 17, 2003.
