Group of Eleven Signed and Inscribed Books. A group of eleven books signed and inscribed to Gregory and Veronique Peck. Titles include: (1) The Bitter Taste of Glory by Jack Valenti, (2) Horror in the Movies by Daniel Cohen, (3) Brown's Guide to Growing by David Brown (not signed by Brown, but a gift inscription from someone to Mr. Peck (4) The Dream by Winston Churchill, signed by Richard M. Langworth who wrote the introduction, (5) The Selected Essays of Gore Vidal by Gore Vidal, (6) Cranston: The Senator from California by Alan Cranston, (7) The Frontiers of the Sea by Peter Ustinov, (8) The Dark Side of Genius: The Life of Alfred Hitchcock by Donald Spoto, (9) Jane Fonda: Ma Vie (Fonda's biography in French) by Jane Fonda. Includes (10) The Ragman's Son: An Autobiography by Kirk Douglas, Advance Uncorrected Proof with handwritten pencil notations on the front flyleaf by Gregory Peck, likely working out the wording for a review quote for the first trade edition. Lastly (11) Backlash by Morris L. West, a complimentary copy sent by MCA Artists for him to read while a script was being written. Ultimately the film was never adapted from the book. All show general reading and handling wear, with edge chips and tears to the dust jackets, corner wear, and rubbing overall.
