    Description

Fredric March as Mark Twain Bust. Warner Bros.' The Adventures of Mark Twain (1944) was a spirited biopic about the legendary humorist, sparked by a fully-realized portrayal of Twain by Fredric March (1897-1975). Perc Westmore was March's makeup artist, and Bud Westmore -- teenage apprentice to his brother Perc -- helped make the mold of this superb life mask of March as Twain. Mask measures 9.25" wide and 15" tall, and it stands on a 2.5" base that reads "Fredric March, Mark Twain." Some of the finish has flaked away -- Good condition. Incidentally, when March won his Best Actor Academy Award for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in 1932, he gave the major credit to Bud's brother Wally, who had applied March's simian "Hyde" makeup. Accompanied by an LOA from Jeannie Westmore.
