Dalton Trumbo's File Copies of Speeches, Clippings, Original Poems, and More. From the estate of Minnabell Cline, Dalton Trumbo's personal secretary, comes this archive of speeches (including his "Minority Groups," delivered at the Writers Congress at UCLA, October 1943), file clippings from 1943 (including coverage of the Zoot Suit Riots and racism against Japanese-Americans), original poems (including "A Thought for Christmas", 1942), his copy of the pamphlet The Sleepy Lagoon Case (prepared by the Citizens' Committee for the Defense of Mexican-American Youth, Los Angeles, 1942), and his program for Shostakovich's War (7th) Symphony, presented by the Hollywood Writers Mobilization, October 9, 1942. In Very Fine condition. Fascinating and highly politicized material from a man widely regarded as the most talented member of the blacklisted "Hollywood Ten".
