    Description

    Clara Bow's Dog Urn with Letter. This heavy 9" x 5" x 5" bronze box contains the cremated remains of the "It" girl's beloved cocker spaniel, Diablo. The lid is engraved with the dedication "Diablo/In Our Hearts You Will Live Forever/1931-1941/" and the urn is accompanied by a three-page typewritten eulogy by Bow. It reads, in part: "Tears come, and heartache and remorse, and I think, a richer, deeper love, when you ran to me through the porch door and wanted to kiss me!" A notation reading "Read this, sons - The dictating is mine, but not the typewriting. Remember, Diablo, the black cocker spaniel" is written across the top of the first page by Bow in blue ink. Both the sealed urn and the document are in Very Fine to Excellent condition with minor wear to the urn, and a vertical fold crease down the center of the eulogy.
