Christopher Lee Tribute to Boris Karloff. This lot features a typed, four-page, annotated draft of a tribute to horror icon Boris Karloff by fellow gothic superstar Christopher Lee. Apparently never published, the tribute is heartfelt and expansive and covers a wide-range of topics: Lee's fan following of Karloff as a boy, their work together on TV's Col. March of Scotland Yard and the films Corridors of Blood and The Curse of the Crimson Altar, the challenges of playing horror roles convincingly, the love of cricket they both shared, and many personal reminiscences of their time together. Lee's depth of emotion shows in his words, and to quote a section: "People like him never really die, you know. He has left a great heritage behind him - he has left his mark on the Cinema. He will never be forgotten...He was a very great man; he was a very great human being and he was a very great actor..." Some annotation in pencil - Excellent condition. A unique, moving and truly one-of-a-kind item. From the Boris Karloff Estate Collection. Accompanied by a Letter of Provenance from Sara Karloff Sparkman.
