    Description

Charles Laughton Life Mask with Faux Bronze Finish. From the archives of Bud Westmore comes this most impressive life mask (in faux bronze finish) of Charles Laughton (1899-1962). Based on the features, this mask is from Laughton's memorable 1932/1933 stay at Paramount Studios (where Wally Westmore was the makeup chief). During that era at Paramount, Laughton performed some of his most vivid roles, including Nero in The Sign of the Cross and, of course, mad Dr. Moreau in Island of Lost Souls. The mask, measuring 8" wide and 13" tall, is nearly 80 years old. Some small chip marks, notably on the right ear -- Very Good condition. The overall effect is ominous -- and dramatic! From the Bud Westmore Collection. Accompanied by an LOA from Jeannie Westmore. Requires third party shipping.
