Description

Boris Karloff's Favorite Portable Cricket Seat. One suspects Boris Karloff's dream job, rather than playing monsters, would have been playing cricket. His favorite past time during the Golden Age of Film was romping the fields with the Hollywood Cricket Club, and he enthusiastically followed the game throughout his life. This was Karloff's favorite portable cricket seat. Take this 30" oh-so-British contraption with you to a cricket game, place it in the ground, open up the metal clasp "seat," insinuate your tail bone onto it and -- by Jove! -- you have a chair to lean against as you cheer those fine fellows on your team to victory. The rod is green, the "seat" has a black rubber-trim for comparative comfort, and Boris enjoyed this seat at many a game. The stick is missing some paint and a tad scuffed -- after all, it saw a lot of use -- but it's still in ever-so-serviceable condition. Looking for an item that saw plenty of Karloff use and likely has his DNA? This is it. From the Boris Karloff Estate Collection. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Sara Karloff Sparkman.
