Description
Billy Wilder Stalag 17 Scripts. The film of Stalag 17 evolved both from the actual World War II POW camp and the Broadway play, which opened at the 48th Street Theatre May 8, 1951 and ran 472 performances. Billy Wilder and Edwin Blum adapted the play by Donald Bevan and Edmund Trzcincski (who played a role in the film), and this lot includes two annotated sets of the film's preliminary sequences ("A" and "B"), the first preliminary green script (dated December 17, 1951, not annotated) and the release dialogue script (July 16, 1952, not annotated). Excellent condition. From the Billy Wilder Archive.Auction Info
