    Description

An Edgar G. Ulmer Set of Framed Sheet Music, Circa 1920s. In the late 1940s, Edgar Ulmer was at his personal peak in Hollywood; money was steady, and his wife Shirley surprised her music-loving husband with a remarkable gift -- two framed pieces of Johannes Brahms sheet music. The first frame contains two pieces for Zwei Gestange, as performed in Berlin, with a printed date of 1884; page has several pencil markings and the date "Sept. 1929." The music measures 9.5" x 12" and is matted into a wooden frame measuring 19.5" x 27." A 6"-long piece of tape runs down the lower left area of one page. The second display contains three pages, the first reading "Gavotte von CW Gluck fur das Pianoforte gesetz und Frau Clara Schumann zugeeignet von Johannes Brahms." The pages measure 10" x 12," matted into a 13" x 23' frame. Edges have some tattering and wear.
