Description

An Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Robert Rauschenberg and Others Signed Jacket. A vintage Lee-brand denim jacket owned by Taylor Mead, a performance artist who appeared in many of Andy Warhol's underground films; signed on the back (at different times) in black felt-tip ink by Mead's buddies including Warhol, Basquiat (who added his "SAMO" pseudonym), and Rauschenberg (who added the date "10-31-79"); Warhol died suddenly following gall bladder surgery in February 1987, Basquiat succumbed to a heroin overdose the following year at age 27, and Rauschenberg continued to produce art until his death in 2008. Accompanied by a handwritten letter of authenticity from Mead.
