American Scene Magazine and The Jackie Gleason Show (CBS TV, 1962-1969), Group of Production Scripts. Vintage original group of (16) production scripts from American Scene Magazine and The Jackie Gleason Show, the two consecutive versions of Jackie Gleason's sketch programs produced in the 1960s. Following the "Classic 39" episodes of The Honeymooners (CBS TV, 1955-1956), Gleason returned to the broader variety show format that jumpstarted his career a decade earlier, bringing back many of his beloved character sketches as well as musical performances, guest stars and a bigger production. In 1964, the show made a physical move from New York City to Miami, Florida, where it was filmed on a large stage at the Miami Beach Auditorium. The scripts presented in this lot comprise episodes produced in both New York and Miami, spanning the early to mid-1960s, offering a behind the scenes look at the production of a variety show program filmed in front of a live audience. Many scripts include rainbow pages indicating production drafts and contain handwritten notations throughout, many with the word "SNAG" written in pencil to top of draft. Exhibiting expected signs of production age and wear including bumped corners, toning, smudging, and stains. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
