Description

A 'Swan' Bed Frame from "Meet Me in St. Louis" and Other MGM Films, 1940s-1960s. Two pieces; a head and a footboard, made of metal with decorative railings and pretty swan heads on all four corners, the headboard is straight and the footboard is slightly curved as is typical; used as set dressing in countless Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer films including "Meet Me in St. Louis" from 1944 starring Judy Garland, "Somewhere I'll Find You" from 1942 starring Clark Gable and Lana Turner, and "The Last Challenge" from 1967 starring Glenn Ford and Angie Dickinson, to name just a few. (Please note this piece needs restoration -- a piece of railing is missing from the headboard, a piece of the base is missing from the footboard, some nuts and bolts are missing, and the entire frame has been painted numerous times.)
    Headboard: 56" x 67" x 10"; Footboard: 57" x 46" x 12"
