Leather-bound by California bookbinding, with the film's title and "Steve McQueen" gold-stamped on the cover, "1974" gold-stamped on the spine, written by Sterling Silliphant; 168 pages, numerous revision pages and multiple handwritten annotations (possibly in McQueen's own hand) throughout; never before offered at auction anywhere; from the personal collection of the Oscar-nominated King of Cool himself, Steve McQueen; in the 1974 disaster epic, McQueen expertly portrays SFFD 5th Battalion Chief Mike O'Halloran, and shares top-billing with the other reigning screen icon of his time, Paul Newman, who plays architect Doug Roberts; a monumental hit, "The Towering Inferno" made nearly $140 million on a $14 million budget, and was a critical success as well.
