Leather-bound by California Bookbinding, with the film's title and "Steve McQueen" gold-stamped on the cover, no authorship noted, "1962" gold-stamped on the spine; 191 pages, numerous annotations (likely in McQueen's own hand) concerning the film's cast, filming locations, and scenes on the first and last pages; from the personal collection of screen legend Steve McQueen, who had top billing in the beloved WWII drama as the "Cooler King," Captain Virgil Hilts, with the ensemble cast including fellow cinema giants James Garner, Charles Bronson, Donald Pleasance, and many more; one of the highest-grossing movies of 1963, "The Great Escape" remains a classic of cinema; never before offered at auction anywhere. (Please note the light wear to the script's leather cover, as well as some staining to the edges of the last three pages.)
