    A Sidney Howard Portable Typewriter Used to Type the Screenplay to "Gone With The Wind," 1930s. A 'Remington Noiseless Portable' brand, serial number "N49669," green keys, still in working condition, with in its own tan leather case, top embossed "S.H.," numerous interior pockets and compartments inside to carry paper, pens, tools, etc., pencil, fountain pen, eraser, and magnifying glass still housed inside case, top of case has numerous travel and mailing labels (as Howard evidently shipped his typewriter to various destinations) including one from the Beverly Hills Hotel and Bungalows and one that reads in part "Sidney Howard / 157 East 83rd St / New York / N.Y.;"used by the screenwriter to write numerous plays and screenplays, including, most famously, the screenplay to "Gone With The Wind" for which he won an Academy Award for 'Best Writing, Screenplay' -- sadly, he was the first posthumous Oscar nominee and winner as he died in August of 1939, just after filming wrapped but months before it was released. (Please note top part of case is now unaffixed from rest of case, entire case case has heavy wear and tear evident.)
