A Ronald Reagan Handwritten Letter, Circa 1977. Penned in black felt-tip ink on personalized stationery, dated "May 15," reading in part "We didn't know of a / sure way that an extra letter might / reach you. But as you can see we / found a way. Don't tip the messenger / he was happy to do it. / ...We can / handle the gasoline shortage, the anti- / nuclear freaks & even the crazy way / the admin. is dealing with the Russians - / we can't take much more of you being / out of action. / ...Duke you are not only in our / thoughts - you are in our prayers every / day. And those prayers are born / of our love & affection for you," signed in the lower right corner "Nancy" [in her hand] "& Ron" [in his hand]; with original transmittal envelope without a stamp or postmark since it was hand-delivered as noted above.
