Description

A Pair of Animation Maquettes from the 'Lipton Brisk Ice Tea' Commercial, 1997. Two, both affixed to a wooden base, the first depicts Stallone as "Rocky Balboa," the second depicts Burgess Meredith as "Mickey Goldmill," made of foam; used in the cute television commercial that pays homage to "Rocky" where Stallone provided his actual voice to his 'puppet self.' (Please note both figures are somewhat tattered with foam loss, dings, Mick's right ear broken due to age.)
    11 3/4" x 12" x 10" and smaller

"I was asked to do the voice for a commercial and I thought, "Nooo thanks" but then I saw these great maquettes they made up and I thought, "These are absolutely extraordinary!" I told them, "I don't even care if I get paid, I just wanna have these pieces in my collection!" So, we made a deal and I did the voice for Rocky in the commercial and then I got these maquettes as a gift afterwards. And to this day, I still find these pieces incredibly humorous -- a moment in time is really captured through these animated puppets. And I love Mickey's expression here!"
