A Milton Caniff Group of Correspondence, 1960s-1970s. Including (in chronological order): 1) a letter handwritten on personalized stationery in blue ballpoint ink, dated "10 July 1962," regarding seeing Wayne in Chicago; 2) a letter typed on personalized stationery, dated "January 26th, 1968," reading in part "I will be at the Balboa / Bay Club.../ to participate in a / National Cartoonist Society program / and would like very much to say hello...," signed in black felt-tip ink in the lower right corner "Milton;" 3) a file copy letter that Wayne sent to Caniff, dated "January 30, 1968," reading in part "...I live practically next door to the / Balboa Bay Club, so please give me a / call when you are settled;" 4) a letter typed on personalized stationery, dated "February First 1968," reading in part "It will be great to / see you..." signed in blue felt-tip ink in the lower right corner "Milton;" and 5) a funny ink pen cartoon depicting two nurses not recognizing Wayne in the hospital, sent to Wayne in April 1978 when he was at Massachusetts General Hospital, signed in black felt-tip ink in the lower right corner "Duke / Hang in, / Baby!! / In hoc, / Milton;" with original transmittal envelope.11" x 8 1/2" and smaller
