A Marilyn Monroe Six Times-Signed Group of Legal Documents, 1951-1955. A rust-colored folder, twice dated "April 11, 1951" and "Dec. 31, 1955," further noting eleven of MM's films starting with "Let's Make It Legal" to "Seven Year Itch;" inside is an assortment of paperwork such as contracts, letters, mimeographs, and other legal documents pertaining to MM's employment at Twentieth Century Fox including: 1)16 pages of a "Duplicate Original" of a standard "one year" employment contract dated "11th day of April, 1951," signed on the last page in blue fountain pen ink "Marilyn Monroe;" 2) a one page letter to MM from the studio, dated "April 18, 1952," relating to a one year extension of employment, signed in black fountain pen ink "Marilyn Monroe;" 3) a two page letter to MM from the studio, dated "October 13, 1952," outlining how she had to plug the studio and their two upcoming films ["Monkey Business" and "The Snows of Kilimanjaro"] when she taped two episodes of "The Edgar Bergen Radio Program" on October 18, 1952, signed on the second page in blue fountain pen ink "Marilyn Monroe;" 4) a two page letter to MM from the studio, dated "February 13, 1953," outlining how she had to plug the studio and their upcoming film ["Niagara"] when she taped the "Martin & Lewis Radio Program" on February 13, 1953, signed on the second page in blue fountain pen ink "Marilyn Monroe;" 5) a one page letter to MM from the studio, dated "April 3, 1953," relating to a one year extension of employment, signed in blue fountain pen ink "Marilyn Monroe;" 6) a one page letter to MM from the studio, dated "April 8, 1953," relating to an amendment of her contract, in part reading "That all notices from the producer to the artist...may be given in writing...(and) the producer may deliver such notice to the artist personally, either orally or in writing...," signed in blue fountain pen ink "Marilyn Monroe;" 7) ten pages of black mimeograph copies of legal documents relating to MM; and 8) ten pages of documents, mainly dated in January 1954 or January 1955, outlining MM's various issues with "Pink Tights" and "How to Be Very, Very Popular" -- two films she refused to make, resulting in her suspension from the studio and her move to New York City where she started her own production company.
