A Katharine Hepburn Group of Self-Portraits, 1950s-1970s. Four total; the first a watercolor rendered on paper, possibly depicting Wanda Bimson, the ingénue in the 1976 Broadway play that Hepburn starred in, "A Matter of Gravity," though it looks more like a self-portrait of Hepburn as a young woman; the second a watercolor and pen and ink rendered on paper, depicting the actress as "Beatrice," the character she played on stage in a 1957 production of "Much Ado About Nothing;" the third a pencil sketch rendered on paper, depicting the actress in bed with her handwritten annotation on the top margin reading "Weekends at / Hospital - Not talking," drawn when Hepburn lost her voice while she was performing in the 1952 Broadway play, "The Millionairess;" and the fourth a similar pencil sketch rendered on paper, also depicting the actress in bed with her handwritten annotation on the top margin reading "Every Day But Sunday / 4:30 to 7:30," referring to Hepburn's daily routine of rolling her hair in handmade newspaper curlers (a photograph of which can been seen in the book by John Bryson, "The Private World of Katharine Hepburn" on pages 128-129.)
