    A Clark Gable Leather Director's Chair Parts from "Gone With The Wind." Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1939. In three sections (seat, backrest, side script holder), made of tan leather, hand-tooled, seat with text reading "To / Clark / From The / Cast and Crew," backrest with text on one side reading "Rhett Butler" and on the other a facsimile signature reading "Clark," side script holder with text reading "Mr. Gable" and "GWTW;" all custom-made by James Z. Flaster, a sound engineer at MGM for decades, but also an artisan who made many of these leather director's chair covers for numerous Hollywood stars, including this one that he presented to Gable on behalf of the production. (Please note the chair itself is not included; the leather is in worn and stained condition due to age and use.)
