MARK HAMILL HERO TATOOINE LONG RIFLE USED AS "LUKE SKYWALKER" IN STAR WARS: EPISODE IV - A NEW HOPE MARK HAMILL HERO TATOOINE LONG RIFLE USED AS "LUKE SKYWALKER" IN STAR WARS: EPISODE IV - A NEW HOPE - (TCF, 1977) This hero rifle was used by Mark Hamill in his historic role as "Luke Skywalker" in Star Wars. It can be seen in the early part of the saga strapped to the side of Luke's Landspeeder, when Luke and C-3PO search for R2-D2 prior to meeting Obi-Wan Kenobi for the first time. Luke also used it prominently as he defends himself in the thrilling hand-tohand battle with the Tuscan Raider, before Obi-Wan saves him. The rifle is hand-carved from solid wood with metal banding, and the barrel portion has been painted silver to resemble steel. This exact weapon can be seen in armory photographs at Bapty & Co., who supplied the majority of the blasters and other weaponry for Star Wars during the early production period. Measures fully 76 ½ in. long. The rifle exhibits some minor wear and a small chip to the corner of the stock, and appears to be missing one of the metal pieces on the side; otherwise, the rifle is in very good condition. Originally acquired over sixteen years ago from Bapty & Co. An instantly recognizable hero prop from the film.
