Marilyn Monroe Grave Marker With Photos and Slides (1962).
Considered one of the original grave markers for Ms. Monroe, from Westwood Memorial Park (also known as Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary). Brown-colored marker with gold-colored trim and letters. Marker says, "Marilyn Monroe / 1926-1962." Measures 4" x 15". In Very Good Minus condition with some overall wear, including soiling on the top portion and fading on the front portion, as well as gold-colored smudge on the upper left portion. One of the holes for the screws on the back side was improperly made, thus a screw could not successfully sustain the marker. Comes with flower holder and original screws.

Lot also contains two 8.1" x 8.1" black and white photos in front of the marker. Both have handwritten words in felt-tip pen. One has "Westwood Memorial Park - Los Angeles, Cal - 1962" written on the top. The other has "Life is higher than the body" written on the top portion with "- John Clair" written on the bottom. Comes with two color slides as well.

    COA from Heritage Auctions.
