(1933) This is the 8.5 x 11 in. 1-page letter on Samuel Goldwyn stationery that started it all. From Samuel Goldwyn, Inc., the letter dated July 13th, 1933, requests that, then model, Lucille Ball travel from New York to California to begin her Hollywood career in movies. The letter reads in part: "Dear Miss Ball: Please be advised we desire you to leave New York for Los Angeles, California, on Saturday evening, July 15th." Lucille Ball has handwritten her train schedule on the verso. Exhibits original folds. In very good condition.
