    Description

Killer Shark arcade game used in Jaws. (Universal, 1975) Vintage Killer Shark arcade game in original cabinet as seen in the beachside arcade on Amity Island in Steven Spielberg's horror classic. Released by SEGA in 1972, the game is one the earliest examples of a first person shooter, with players taking on the role of a diver firing harpoons at sharks using the cabinet's integral mechanical light gun. In the film, the presence of the game serves as an ironic symbol of the civic leaders' reckless disregard for "Brody's" (Roy Scheider) warnings about the shark. Measures 29 x 69 x 28 in. Exhibiting age, surface loss at front of base, minor loss and soiling to shark and diver graphics at front and sides, and production wear. Electronics and mechanicals untested. A poignant relic from the legendary summer blockbuster and an extremely rare example of early arcade game technology. In good condition. Comes with a LOA from Chris Kiszka, known to have the largest collection of Jaws authentic film props in the world, who was featured in the Jaws BluRay DVD documentary extra: The Shark is Still Working.
