Jeff Bridges "The Dude" ash-scattering "Medina Sod" bowling shirt with plaid shorts from The Big Lebowski. Jeff Bridges "The Dude" ash-scattering "Medina Sod" bowling shirt with plaid shorts from The Big Lebowski.  (Polygram, 1998)  This original costume was screen-worn by Jeff Bridges as "The Dude" in the Coen Brothers classic comedy The Big Lebowski. Bridges' earnest portrayal of the unemployed, pothead slacker, endeared the actor to the public and revitalized his career. "The Dude" character is considered one of the most cherished "lovable losers" in cinematic history. The costume consists of vintage yellow and brown rayon short-sleeve bowling shirt with "Art" sewn above the front pocket featuring embroidered bowling ball and pins.  The left sleeve has an "American Bowling Congress League Champion 1964-1965" patch, and "Medina Sod" is sewn in bold letters on the back. Costumer's tag on the T-shirt reads, "Character: Dude / Ch #16 / Scenes: 75-78 / Description: D8 / Mortuary / Ext. Point Dume / Int. Alley / Bar".  Plaid knee-length shorts complete the ensemble worn by Bridges in the final scenes of the film. In particular, when "Walter" ("John Goodman") scatters "Donny's" ashes off the cliffs of Malibu only to have the wind catch them and blow all over "The Dude".  In production-used condition as seen in the film.
