James Remar "Corporal Dwayne Hicks" Colonial Marine armor from Aliens. (TCF, 1986) Original Colonial Marine body armor from Aliens production by legendary armorer Terry English. Consisting of pressed aluminum panels, cast resin components, web belting and plastic buckles. Including 2-sided chest and back armor of aluminum linked together at the sides by black web belting. Tiered pauldrons of aluminum with comfort padding attach to the chest and back plate with rivets and web belting and 2-leg and knee guards. The entire body armor assemblage has been expertly painted in green military camouflage with stenciled "Apone" on the chest. The interior of the chest armor is marked "James Remar" who was originally cast as Corporal Dwayne Hicks. Remar left the production suddenly and was replaced with actor Michael Biehn, but Remar was seen in the final cut of the film when the Colonial Marines enter the Alien Hive (several still pictures of him in this armor exist as well). It is possible that this was Al Matthews' (Sergeant Apone) backup armor, which would explain the "Apone" stenciled marking. Included is Remar's combat helmet with affixed prop camera lens on the right side, head microphone and retractable eye-piece that drops from the brim of the helmet in front of the right eye. Exhibiting age, production wear and distress. In vintage very good condition.
