High Elven screen-used sword & scabbard from The Lord of the Rings trilogy. (New Line Cinema, 2001-2003) This two-handed Elven sword was unique among the armaments of Middle-earth in that it represented the pinnacle of individualizing a weapon to the warrior who wielded it. "The Elves of the Second Age" designed the widely spaced grip for maximum rotation when moving the sword through whirling attacks, which are a hallmark of their fluid fighting style. This instantly recognizable sword style was featured prominently by the High Elven Warriors of "Gil-galad's" army during the prologue of The Fellowship of the Ring and later by the Galadhrim Elves of Lothl├│rien during the Battle of Helm's Deep in The Two Towers. The painted resin handle of this Elven sword is molded from the original hero prop and features Elven vine designs along its 52 in. length. Its aluminum blade exhibits remnants of theatrical Orc blood along with additional wear from filming use. The accompanying 28 in. scabbard is constructed of painted resin with metal and leather belting. Both sword and scabbard were designed by Warren Mahy and created by Shaun Bolton and Master Swordsmith, Peter Lyon under the art direction of Sir Richard Taylor at Weta Workshop during the production of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Special shipping arrangements will apply.
