Hero illuminating Starfleet Phaser Pistol from Star Trek: Into Darkness. (Paramount, 2013) A foreground prop Starfleet Phaser used in the popular Star Trek feature film starring Benedict Cumberbatch as arch villain "Khan" being pursued by the intrepid crew of the USS Enterprise. Constructed of resin with metalized chrome-like finish measuring 10.5 in. long x 7.5 in. tall x 2.25 in. wide. The prop weapon features an electronic emitter at the front of the device, which is designed to be controlled by a button on the grip, alternating between the red "kill" barrel and silver "stun" barrel. The prop also features an LED light panel on the top of the body that can be set to illuminate green or red via the adjacent scroll wheel. This hero prop was damaged during production and the swivel emitter was glued in place by the prop team to be used as an illuminating static prop. The battery compartment is designed to hold a small rechargeable battery and the battery cover attaches via magnets. Included with a post-production battery and charger to show the illuminating capabilities of this elegant prop.
