Description

Gunnar Hanson "Leatherface" Boots from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. (Bryanston Dist., 1974) Vintage original pair of screen worn "Leatherface" black leather cowboy boots. With plain tongue and instep at the front, dip in the top collar and pull straps. Already an imposing figure, Hansen wore three-inch lifts in his boots so that he towered over the rest of his cast. The horror icon has said, "The production was so grueling - the unbearably hot conditions in Texas, long shooting days, no safety precautions. And there you were wearing masks that had almost no visibility, built-up boots that were difficult to run in, and you were wielding a real saw". Hansen had a close call while chasing lead actress "Sally" (Marilyn Burns). His boots slipped on wet grass, he fell to the ground with his active chainsaw inches from his face. The boots exhibit wear, use, age and handling and retain a fine coating of red Texas dirt. In production used vintage very good condition.
