    Description

Game of Thrones HBO studio-commissioned life-size replica "Iron Throne" presented by author George R.R. Martin at the Game of Thrones: The Epic Fan Experience - March 20, 2014. (HBO, 2011-Present) Precise replica "Iron Throne" constructed of hand-finished fiberglass and fireproof resin components, embellished with swords, spikes and medieval projectiles fanning out in an impressive array to form the structure and shape of the iconic set piece. Officially commissioned by HBO as an exact replica of the majestic throne seen in the blockbuster series, the 7 ft. x 6 ft. x 5.5 ft. prop is expertly studio painted and finished in shades of rustic iron with gold and bronze detailing. Meticulously distressed to appear age old and weathered. As the mythology established in George R. R. Martin's epic novels and the resulting cultural juggernaut of the episodic TV show goes, this "seat of kings" from the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros was forged from a thousand swords of fallen enemies, melded together by dragon fire, and forged to form the Iron Throne for Aegon I Targaryen, the first king of the Seven Kingdoms. This piece was made specifically for Game of Thrones: The Epic Fan Experience held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY on March 20, 2014. The event was sponsored by HBO and the promotional company DL Blair. Some cast members and the author, George R.R. Martin, were present at the event and Martin personally presented this throne to the winner. This 350 lb. throne remains in fine condition. The piece will remain in Tennessee and will require the winning bidder to make special shipping arrangements.
