Description

Errol Flynn "Mahbub Ali, the Red Beard" long jacket and vest designed by Valles from Kim. (MGM, 1950) Beige and ivory woven long coat with brown suede and tan felt accents along front and cuffs, partially lined in ivory with hook & eye front closure. MGM label handwritten, "ERROL FLYNN 1476 7121". Short ivory quilted vest with salmon felt trim, six round gold metal buttons and lined in tan material. MGM label handwritten, "ERROLL FLYNN 1476 7121". Both pieces exhibit minor staining. Jacket has sections of suede missing and brittle. Vest exhibits remnants of suede dry and brittle. Designed by Valles. Worn by Errol Flynn as "Mahbub Ali, the Red Beard" in several scenes including when he leaves a lady's house via the balcony in true Flynn fashion in Kim. Originally acquired at the 1970 MGM Auction.
