Description
Original Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman Studio Script and The Ghost of Frankenstein Trailer Script (Universal, 1943). Vintage original studio bound and bradded 123-page Contract File Copy script. Written by Curt Siodmak, the creator and writer of the original Universal classic The Wolf Man, this was a project that would follow up that hit, which nearly grossed 1 million dollars and cast Lon Chaney Jr. to reprise his role as the lycanthrope. The script is missing the front cover and page 1, so it begins on page 2. An early draft, pages 61, 94, and 95 are reproduced with dialog changes either typed or handwritten in pencil. On pages 61 and 64 "Igor" is struck-through and replaced with "Monster." Other departures from the final script and movie are the "Dr. Frank Mannering" (portrayed by Patric Knowles) being named "Doctor Frank Harley," as well as retaining all of the dialog written for Bela Lugosi's first and only turn as "The Frankenstein Monster," which was ultimately cut from the finished film when Lugosi's accent didn't fit the production. Exhibiting age and handling. Retaining the back cover. Overall in vintage Very Good condition. Also includes a vintage original studio-generated continuity/dialog trailer script for The Ghost of Frankenstein (Universal, 1942) handwritten on top left corner, "Hong Kong." In vintage Very Good condition. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.Heritage Auctions provides as much information as possible but strongly encourages in-person inspection.
