Description
Meet Me in St. Louis (MGM, 1944), Studio Production "Temporary Complete" Pink Revision File Copy Script by Irving Brecher and Fred F. Finklehoffe. Vintage original 153-pg (as paginated) typed-carbon Meet Me in St. Louis (1944) script on pink revision vellum tissue leaves, brad-bound in studio printed wraps, with front bearing title, author credits, dated 5/22/43, "File Copy" and "Temporary Complete" stamps, plus Script Dept. label affixed with "60" as assigned script copy number. Pink revision pages are dated variously from 8/5/43- 10/27/43. Starring the always-captivating Judy Garland under the direction of her future husband, Vicente Minnelli, Meet Me in St. Louis follows the Smith family as they navigate love, heartache, and the excitement of life in St. Louis in the early 1900s, culminating in the 1904 World's Fair. Triumphing as the second-highest grossing film of 1944 as well as MGM's highest grossing musical of the 1940s, the popularity for the film still remains strong to this day, enduring primarily as a Christmas classic noted for its endearing songs, particularly Garland's spectacular rendition of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." The wrappers exhibit light edge wear, mild toning, and minor marginal chipping. Interior pages show minor chipping at some extreme margins and rounded corners, but remain otherwise relatively free of wear or signs of handling.
