    Description

Marilyn Monroe Group of Very Rare Various-Sized 'Salesman Sample' Calendars (1952, 1955). From the personal files of Bob Baruck, a salesman who sold the now infamous nude calendars in the San Fernando Valley for a short amount of time in the mid-1950s; comprising five separate color lithographic images, two folded in the center, each with a calendar page glued (or printed) to the bottom portion below sample text (where the business name would be printed), all with various text printed on left, right, and bottom areas of the image itself; 1) the first titled "Golden Dreams" with a calendar page from "November (and) December 1952;" 2) the second identical but with a calendar page from "March (and) April 1952;" 3) the third similar (but smaller) with printed calendars from "January / February / March 1952;" 4) the fourth also the 'Golden Dreams' pose but "With Lace Overprint" and re-titled "The Lure of Lace," with a calendar page from "January (and) February 1955," and 5) the fifth somewhat similar to #4 but with a different layout and smaller, with a calendar page from "January 1955;" consigned to this auction directly by Baruck's daughter. (Please note two have frayed top margins and some display glue residue from the calendars being adhered to the image.)
