Marilyn Monroe Group of Very Rare Narrow-Sized 'Salesman Sample' Calendars (1953-1956). From the personal files of Bob Baruck, a salesman who sold the now infamous nude calendars in the San Fernando Valley for a short amount of time in the mid-1950s; comprising five separate color lithographic images, each with a calendar page glued to the bottom portion below sample text (where the business name would be printed), two with an added page of text describing the calendar glued to the upper left corner (two don't have them), all with various text printed on left, right, and bottom areas of the image itself; 1) the first titled "Golden Dreams" with a calendar page from "November 1953;" 2) the second identical but with a calendar page from "January 1955;" 3) the third identical but with a calendar page from "January 1956;" 4) the fourth also the 'Golden Dreams' pose but "With Lace Overprint" and re-titled "Entrancing," with a calendar page from "January 1956;" and 5) the fifth also the 'Golden Dreams' pose but with a different "Lace Overprint" and re-titled "The Lure of Lace," with a calendar page from "January 1955," also with extra text printed on the verso about (in part) "The biggest selling picture in America Today / Marilyn Monroe;" consigned to this auction directly by Baruck's daughter.
