    Description

Marilyn Monroe Group of Very Rare Large-Sized 'Salesman Sample' Calendars (1955-1956). From the personal files of Bob Baruck, a salesman who sold the now infamous nude calendars in the San Fernando Valley for a short amount of time in the mid-1950s; comprising four separate color lithographic images, all folded in the center, each with a calendar page glued to the bottom portion below sample text (where the business name would be printed), each with an added page of text describing the calendar glued to the upper left corner (on all but one); all with various text printed on left, right, and bottom areas of the image itself; 1) the first titled "Golden Dreams" with a calendar page from "August 1955;" 2) the second identical but with a calendar page from "April 1956;" 3) the third also the 'Golden Dreams' pose but "With Lace Overprint" and re-titled "Entrancing," with a calendar page from "November 1956;" and 4) the fourth also the 'Golden Dreams' pose but with a different "Lace Overprint" and re-titled "The Lure of Lace," with a calendar page from "June 1955," also with extra text printed on the verso about (in part) "The biggest selling picture in America Today / Marilyn Monroe;" consigned to this auction directly by Baruck's daughter.
