Description
Ferris Bueller's Day Off (Paramount, 1986), Second Unit Director's Shooting Script and Production Bible. Original production binder containing the second unit shooting script, production notes, and strategies for one of the most memorable films of the 1980s, Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Beloved by cinephiles and 80s aficionados, this binder offers a comprehensive portrait of how this quintessential landmark was made. The 11.5" x 11" x 3" binder includes shooting schedules, cast and crew contacts, handwritten notes, and is organized with tabs marking various phases of production, such as "Script", "Daley Info", "Notes", "Parade Notes", "One-Liner", "Contact List", and "Call Sheets". Included are several handwritten pages on yellow legal pad paper-presumably written by someone in the second unit crew-outlining camera angles, shots, and other technical details. The highlight is the rainbow shooting script dated August 22, 1985, featuring a handwritten "69" on the cover and totaling 183-pages. Some blue revision pages provide deeper insights into the characters: Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) discusses a draft-dodging uncle during his shower, Cameron (Alan Ruck) reflects on his strained relationship with his parents before destroying his father's beloved Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder, and Sloane (Mia Sara) opens up about her fractured home life. Widely considered writer-director John Hughes' best movie, the beloved film blends pop culture irreverence, teenage angst, and the iconic Ferris Bueller, who convinces his girlfriend Sloane and best friend Cameron to skip school and spend the day exploring Chicago in a Ferrari. This document details the extensive second unit work used to showcase the city's vibrancy, helping make Ferris Bueller's Day Off one of the all-time great Chicago films. It includes behind-the-scenes information on helicopter shots, Wrigley Field, the "Danke Schoen"/"Twist and Shout" parade sequence, and every Ferrari-driving scene, including the joyride by the parking attendants and the moment Cameron "kills the car". A remarkable piece of film history, this document is essential for fans of the movie or anyone who wants to "Save Ferris" by preserving his legacy. Exhibits production wear and age, with bumped corners and faded printing.
