Cecil B. DeMille Large Leather Portfolio with Awards and Honors. Vintage leather portfolio measuring 24.5" x 30" containing dozens of prestigious awards and honors from DeMille's industry and military career. The ornate portfolio is designed to look like a leather-bound book with decorative binding and dimensional cover art reflecting the coat of arms from both sides of his family. The interior contains an impressive collection of distinguished achievements presented to the filmmaker. A few of the awards/honors include original artwork from artist Arnold Friberg for DeMille's 77th birthday, a Tribute from the City of Paris, France dated 1957, an official invitation to the Inauguration of President Dwight Eisenhower in January 1953, Presidential Military Honors for Army Service in 1936 and 1941, The Circus Fans Association Honor on leather parchment, a Look Magazine Award for Achievement in Producing The Ten Commandments, a Doctor of Letters degree from Brigham Young University, and many more. This opulent portfolio was kept for decades next to a trophy display in DeMille's home office. Portfolio exhibits age, leather deterioration, and cover has separated from the back. Documents exhibit age and toning. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
