    Billy Wilder Spirit of St. Louis Production Archive. Seven files of original Warner Bros. documents related to the production of Wilder's 1957 biopic based on the book by Charles Lindbergh (portrayed in the film by James Stewart). Included are extensive correspondence to and from Wilder (no signatures) and producer Leland Hayward (signature), cast and credits listings, research notes, projection room notes, shooting schedules, Newsweek magazine with article on film; shooting schedules, production meeting notes, instructions for the director of photography, insert shot list; correspondence to and from Wilder (no signatures), including mentions of Wilder's other 1957 films, Witness for the Prosecution and Love in the Afternoon, and a TLS from director Jean Negulesco; eight sets of production notes, ten synopses; notes to Wilder from technical advisor General Bertrandias, manuscript and typescript notes from technical advisor Harlan "Bud" Gurney; location movement lists, on-site housing list, cross plot chart; April 1957 Box Office "Blue Ribbon Award" for "The Best Picture of the Month for the Whole Family" presented to Billy Wilder, and a Box Office review referring to same.
