Betty Grable at Paramount Script Collection. Betty Grable was 20th Century-Fox's top Technicolor attraction during the World War II years, when her bathing suit cheesecake photo became true Americana. However, her original ascendancy to stardom took place at Paramount studios. This lot contains six script drafts and continuities from her Paramount era, including Collegiate (August 10, 1935 script -- Betty was the second lead); This Way Please (1937 continuity for "B" musical starring Betty and Charles "Buddy" Rogers); Campus Confessions (Aug. 27, 1938 censorship dialogue script); Campus Confessions (Set. 7, 1938 release dialogue script); Million Dollar Legs (script draft, March 15, 1939); and Million Dollar Legs (script draft, March 25, 1939). The last film coronated Betty as a major box office star and paved the way for Broadway stardom in Du Barry Was a Lady and her Fox contract. Scripts are in Very Good to Excellent condition. A colorful archive dedicated to a star who became one of Hollywood's Top Ten box office stars ten years in a row.
