An Ernest Borgnine Collection of Bound 'Time' and 'Newsweek' Magazines Related to Watergate, 1972-1973. Ten volumes, all bound in brown leather, each embossed in gold on the spine "Watergate" and then a number from "1" to "10," inside each volume are the newsweeklies in their entirety if they contained an article about Richard Nixon and the Watergate scandal, dating from October 1972 to August 1973, most with Borgnine's address label still affixed to the cover as he subscribed to both magazines; like most Americans at the time, he was consumed with Watergate, so much so that he thought he should bind and save these issues of 'Time' and 'Newsweek' for posterity; interestingly, he took his magazines to California Bookbinding on Selma Avenue in Los Angeles, a place famous for binding special scripts for movie stars and Hollywood executives.
    Each volume approximately: 11" x 9" x 2"

Included with a Letter of Provenance signed by Nancee Borgnine and Cris Borgnine, Ernest's children.
