Description

A William Holden Signed Script from "Stalag 17," 1953. Holden's performance in Billy Wilder's prisoners-of-war drama earned him his second Academy Award nomination for Best Actor, and his only win. This is Holden's personal copy of a 129-page final white draft of the script, dated January 30, 1952 with 21 blue revision pages. It is signed by Holden in pencil on the title page, and is otherwise free of annotations. There are holes through the last 30 pages and the edges of the last 15 pages have been torn away, with both sets of defects slightly affecting the printing; otherwise, the script is in Fine to Very Fine condition. It is accompanied by seven assorted b&w 8" x 10" publicity photos, a vintage half-sheet poster for the movie, and assorted reviews and clippings from The Hollywood Reporter, Daily Variety, Los Angeles Times, and others. A portion of the proceeds to be donated to the William Holden Wildlife Foundation.
