A Script and Coffee Mug from "Big Jake." National General Pictures, 1971. Script with goldenrod covers, screenplay by Harry Julian Fink, undated, 136 pages, cover shows film's original title of "The Million Dollar Kidnapping;" together with a mug; made of ceramic, gold-painted handle, image on front side depicts a boy and horse, on back side text reads "Bob / from Duke;" 'Bob' being Bob Weatherwax, the celebrated animal trainer who worked with "Laddie," the dog who co-starred with Wayne in the film; bottom is stamped "The Mug Shop / 3024 E. Coast Hwy. / Corona del Mar, Calif.;" gifted by Wayne to cast and crew as was his tradition. (Please note the script is somewhat wrinkled due to use on set and the mug shows signs of major repair work.)

PROVENANCE:
This piece was consigned directly to Heritage Auctions by Bob Weatherwax, son of Rudd Weatherwax who is best remembered for being the man who trained the various Collies who played "Lassie" over the years.
