A Marilyn Monroe-Related Script Personally-Owned by Al Breneman from "Some Like It Hot." United Artists, 1959. Light blue covers, screenplay by Billy Wilder and I.A.L. Diamond, dated "7/18/58" and "10/13/58," 130 pages, one page of penciled annotations next to the character "Bellhop," ownership signature penciled on 'character list' page reading "Allen Breneman," back cover with penned note in blue ballpoint ink reading "Hal Palore [sic] /Stage 4 / HO 7-5111" [Hal W. Polaire, the uncredited assistant director], last page of script not finished as typed note reads "More to Follow;" included with an informal invitation for the preview of the film that took place on "Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1959" at the "Screen Directors' Guild / 7950 Sunset Blvd." (Please note the covers are faded, yellowed, wrinkled, and dirty due to age.)
    11" x 9"; Invite: 3 1/2" x 6"

This lot was consigned directly to Heritage Auctions by Allen Breneman himself, the character actor who portrayed the fresh, bowtie-snapping bellhop who had the hots for Tony Curtis ["Joe/Josephine"]! Criminally, Breneman was uncredited in this small yet hysterical role, but included with this lot is his 'Letter of Provenance,' handwritten in black ballpoint ink, outlining his fun recollections about his part in this all-time classic comedy.
