A Joey Bishop Massive Archive of Documents, 1940s-1960s. Three bankers boxes filled to the brim with countless paper materials saved by the comedian over the course of two decades, including both personal and professional items such as programs (from Bishop's early days on the nightclub circuit), table tents, playbills, advertising materials from his television shows, dozens of personal letters (mostly from Bishop to his beloved wife, Sylvia), business letters, holiday and birthday cards, utility bills, airline tickets, magazines, TV Guides (many with Bishop on the covers), Friars Club pamphlets, identification cards, thousands of press clippings (from a professional clipping service), handwritten sheet music, one reel of film (content unknown), and other like ephemera deemed important enough to Bishop to keep over the course of 60 years -- as the old saying goes, this is a 'treasure trove' for the dedicated Bishop fan! Please know our catalogue illustration does NOT do justice to this lot as all the contents must be seen in person to truly appreciate their 20th century charm.
